Cocoa Butter Baby Smoothie
I have been obsessed with this shake for years, and while the ingredients have changed slightly, it continues to taste like a mix between a reese's peanut butter cup and the most decadent chocolate banana milkshake. I've expanded my smoothie recipes since I first found this shake, but always come back to it when I want something quick and delicious.
The three main ingredients in this baby are cocoa powder, bananas, and some form of nut butter. I usually buy two bunches of bananas and peel and freeze a bag for smoothies and shakes. So I take one frozen banana, a tablespoon of cocoa powder, and a tablespoon of peanut butter (For this one I used the one with dates I bought at the Venice farmer's market which is amazinggggg). Then I add in some pink Himalayan sea salt which helps with circulation, cinnamon which is anti-inflammatory, some protein powder, and ashwagandha which is an adaptogenic herb I've been using to help with hormone regulation.
The real magic here though is in a few new discoveries. Added in coconut butter, not coconut oil, makes this smoothies so insanely creamy it is beyond decadent. Just a half a teaspoon is all you need. Then cocoa nibs, which provide antioxidants and a nice crunch make this shake taste like their is oreo pieces. Seriously mouthwatering. Top with almond milk (or milk of your choosing) and blend. That's it!
